The elections for the 43rd National Assembly were held on 5 October 2014 according to a proportional representation system based on lists of parties, coalitions of parties and initiative committees, registered in 32 multi mandate constituencies (districts).

25 parties and coalitions, and 3 independent candidates ran for elections.

Eight political entities went over the 4 % threshold allowing participation in the distribution of the parliament’s seats.
