The 40th National Assembly Opens its 10th Plenary Session

National Assembly Chairman opened today the 10th plenary session of the 40th NA. The opening was attended by prime minister Sergey Stanishev and other cabinet members.
In his opening address, Chairman Pirinski stated that a serious legislative work and parliamentary control are coming ahead and that the NA is confronted with the very important task of drawing up the legislation for the coming next year elections in such a way as to meet the expectations of the society and to satisfy the needs of the country to keep on its democratic development. According to him, the first serious challenge would be the working process in the plenary hall, the seriousness and depth of discussions and the voting itself.
The leaders of the parliamentary groups took the floor and outlined their priorities for the new political season.
The NA paid respect to the victims of terrorism with a minute of silence.
