Parliamentary Press Release Regarding National Milk Producers Association Letter Submitted to Parliament

The document filed with the National Assembly on January 30, 2009, Friday and titled “bloody letter” contains the demands of the country’s milk producers with respect to the government policies of import and buying off milk and meat products. It demands from the authorities to undertake fast and adequate measures and threatens to start blockades of the ferries between Bulgaria and Romania in Vidin and Oriahovo as well as at the Danube Bridge in Ruse.
On the instructions of the National Assembly Chairman Georgi Pirinski, a copy of the letter was sent to the office of the Minister of Agriculture and Food for his immediate review, prior to the negotiations with the National Milk Producers Association’s representatives.
A copy of the letter was also sent to the chair of the parliamentary Agriculture and Forestry Committee.
